October 26, 2007

The newest display in the atrium at work is canned goods built into different objects. This one (titled "Slice Through Hunger") is my favorite.

Walking in Manhattan, I came across this ad. This just so happens to be the two Broadway shows I've seen since I moved here. Convenient.

October 24, 2007

Today, Vanessa and I had mani/pedi appointments. On my fingernails, I got OPI's "Chicago champagne toast." On my toes, I got "SoHo nice to meet you." I think I need to go buy that SoHo color -- it's so purdy! :)

I received a wonderful birthday card from my friend Carissa. So, I wanted to share a picture of this painting she made for me and had framed. It's up on my bedroom wall.

October 22, 2007

There is a walkway in Central Park that is lined with benches. I happened to sit on this one dedicated to Jim Henson.

October 21, 2007

Today I did the American Cancer Society's breast cancer walk in Central Park. About 28,000 people showed up. We had beautiful weather for the end of October. I walked with three of my co-workers: Tasha, Valerie and Keith.

I found the most perfect Halloween card for my nephew, William. If you can't read it, it says "Billy's costume had the unique distinction of having peas on it and pee in it." He's dressing up as a peapod this year -- a costume very similar to this one.

October 19, 2007

Happy birthday, Larry! My brother turns 29 today. Here's a picture of a picture of us taken back in the day (I'm guessing 1982).

October 18, 2007

I ordered these sandals back in July and I was wait-listed. They arrived today ... just in time for winter. They're kinda uglier than I thought, so I might send them back.

October 17, 2007

My good-luck bamboo that my mom got for me a couple Easters ago. We named her Miyagi Yamakura in our Southfield office.

October 16, 2007

I went to my second NJYP event tonight. It was a mixer with a lot of other "young professional" groups in NJ. Over 300 people came. Once it got too crowded to move, we left.

October 15, 2007

My new baby! 8G, 3rd generation iPod. My first one ever. So far, I'm in love.

Do you see all the changes my wonderful cousin made in Photoshop? She's a photographer, so she's a pro at making ugly people less ugly ;)

October 13, 2007

This is the unisphere in Flushing Meadows, as shown in the opening sequence of "King of Queens."

October 12, 2007

Isn't she beautiful? After countless phone calls (lots of them to India ... don't get me started) with Chrysler Financial, my title was finally transferred so I could get my license plates!

Next up on the list of things I'm winning: Ryka tennis shoes. They're very cushy, and thanks to my denial of what shoe size I actually am, they're also a 1/2 size too small. I'm trying to break them in to make them better. We shall see. My sister Heidi also won a pair!

October 10, 2007

My newest purse, still wrapped in its shipping material. Me loves!

October 9, 2007

Back to work. In the atrium, there are a bunch of artwork pieces. This one is my favorite.

October 8, 2007

This is proof of how much moisture there has been in the air of late. This was cotton candy that was just sitting in its open bag -- it looks like someone licked it already. Gross. I just threw it away.

October 7, 2007

I stayed the night at my aunt Karen & uncle Rick's house last night. I got this plate to use for my breakfast. In their dishes set, there is only one plate like this. The person who gets it just feels special. :) Yes, we all know *I'm* special.

October 6, 2007

Before making it to the AppleFest, I went to see my friend Rene's house. Here she is with her husband Raul. A stranger gave -- just gave -- them this house last month. Needless to say, they are ecstatic, as am I for them!

October 5, 2007

Since I've never been to Greenfield Village, we went today -- even though it was pushing 90 degrees.
Here are some 18th- & 19th-century printing press machines.

October 4, 2007

Nothing screams maturity like celebrating your 26th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Of course, I'd like to say it was more for my 3-year-old cousin, Jamie...
Good times and more pizza. I think that's all they have in Michigan - pizza. ;)

October 3, 2007

I got to babysit today. I took Liam up to Holly's work so she could show him off. Then, we had lunch at Buddy's Pizza. Our tradition is to get a antipasto salad and a 4-piece pizza (1/2 ham & black olives, 1/2 onions & pepperoni). So good.

October 2, 2007

I hung out with my brother-in-law Lou today. We played basketball and ate $5 pizza! He only has 1 motorcycle helmet or else he would've taken me for a ride.

October 1, 2007

A-dorable! Such a cutie. Today, I went to lunch with Liam, Holly and Bill. Then, we went clothes shopping since Holly is returning to work tomorrow. Then, my mom made dinner. Good times.

September 30, 2007

Here's my church where Liam was baptized. Heidi and I were godmothers. Dave, Bill's friend, was the godfather.
Also, Holly and Bill (his parents) became members of the church today.

September 29, 2007

My mom and I made my nephew's baptism cake today. It was delish.

September 28, 2007

I headed home. On my way, I stopped in Cleveland to have dinner with friends: Fran, Eleanor, Kerry, Crystal, Amy, Michelle and Grace. Lovely, beautiful girls :)

September 27, 2007

Today was the only day, seemingly, that all 4 of us were in the office at the same time this month. This is my birthday card from my co-workers that my boss Maria thought would make a great blog post. Boy, was she right. And she's also very pretty and smart and just a wonderful person. :)

September 26, 2007

I've been winning things! First up - a back issue of my favorite magazine: mental floss. Yay! It came in the mail today.

September 25, 2007

It's a national holiday ... my BIRTHDAY!!
So, I went to see "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in Manhattan. Very cool. I would definitely do it again. The guests that night were Jamie Foxx and Heather Graham and some comedian.

We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, so I settled for these outside shots. Also, they gave everyone free Conan shirts. They have "audience member" on the sleeve. I'm rockin it.

Dinner was at the Nevada Diner back in Jerz. I got free cake! Not too shabby for Heather.

September 24, 2007

I had my birthday eve dinner here at Holsten's. I just happened to drive by it one day & thought it looked cute. Come to find out, a lot of scenes (including the very last one) for the "Sopranos" were shot here.
