September 23, 2007

I'm working on watching every single episode of "Friends" in order. I started this back in February and am in the home stretch. Amy let me borrow season 10, so I need to finish it this week so I can return it to her when I drive through Ohio.

My favorite quotes of this season are from the episode "The One Where the Stripper Cries." (referring to a flash-back scene, when Ross was in college, Ross is talking about the first time he thinks he kissed Rachel):

Ross: You were under the pile of coats?
Monica: I was the pile of coats!
R: Oh my God!
M: You were my midnight mystery kisser?!
R: You were my first kiss with Rachel?!
M: You were my first kiss ever?!

Thanks for the tip, Emily. Target is selling "The Office" memorabilia in their $1 section. I got this stuff and 2 other pens. This makes me happy.

Every day, the mail guys walk by my desk numerous times. Never have I gotten anything in the mail (and, why would I, right?). Well, today was my lucky day! My friend Eleanor (who works in our Cleveland office) mailed me a birthday card (the one on the right). I put it next to the one that our COO sent to me weeks ago. Yay for birthday cards!

September 20, 2007

My cousin Lisa sent me a birthday package! It has yummy cookies and muffins. Plus, since I mailed her a colored picture for her birthday, she sent me a coloring book and some other things to color :)
And, her daugher, Shelby, had the idea to make me the "Princess Heather" crown. Wasn't that so nice of her? (and, very accurate) Yay!

September 19, 2007

My friends Kelly and Aaron are having a baby boy (Luke), and I got the invite to one of their showers. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it -- but I will have fun shopping for baby stuff!

These are the m&ms I got at m&m's world in Times Square with Amy. I tried to stick to the colors that are exclusive to New York, but I had to throw some pink ones in there.
Amy made a Tiffany & Co. mix (teal, black & sliver). Very creative.

What's in the box?

What's in the box?

Nope, not a severed head ;) But, does it matter? It's so pretty unopened!

September 16, 2007

Today, we went to Shea Stadium to see the Mets take on the Phillies. This is the view from our seats.

September 15, 2007

My friend Amy from Cleveland came to visit. In honor of Joey on "Friends" (we were outside their Greenwich Village building), she gets in the map to figure out which way we should go next.

September 14, 2007

Exactly.

September 13, 2007

My nephew! My sister mailed me a packaged of pictures of little Liam. My 2 favorite are in the front. The one on the left is my dad holding him & on the seat of his onsie, it says "baby boy." The one on the right looks like he's a boxer. :)

More new shoes! :)

A day, six years ago, that no American will forget.

This is my view on my way to work (today was very rainy/overcast). I tried to put the "1"s where the Towers would have been.

After work, I debated going to Ground Zero to pay my respects but decided against it for different reasons.

Manhattan doesn't have time to shut down lane by lane to repave the streets. So, they use this contraption that scrapes up a couple of inches of the pavement and shoots it into a dump truck driving in front of it.

September 9, 2007

My new kicks. You like?
There were some New Balance shoes that fit a lot better, but they were fugly. Since they were both the same price, I went with the ones that just fit alright.

September 8, 2007

I got these tickets that I requested. Wheel of Fortune is coming to Radio City Music Hall. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go since it's the same day I'll be driving to Cleveland.
Bummer.

There is always astonishing grammar usage on the trains. Here is an example of random capitalization for no good reason.

Yep, my foot still hurts. So, I went to the foot doctor. I'll spare you all the details, but I will say that I now get to wear this super-cool contraption when I'm sleeping. Don't be jealous ;) It's suppose to passively stretch the ligaments in my foot so that when I wake up, hopefully it won't hurt so much to walk on it. I go back in two weeks for a check-up.

Happy one-year anniversary, Vanessa. She got her one-year pen at work today. So, we lined all of ours up & I took a picture: TM, HR, VV. Yay for Vanessa!

I heart Ikea. I bought this candle holder about a year ago. I have yet to burn candles in it, though.

September 3, 2007 -- Labor Day

Happy Labor Day! I went to a church picnic with my co-worker ... I mean with my friend from work ;) I played softball, which was fun except that I thought it was a fantastic idea to run in sandals. My left foot is not happy. :(

September 2, 2007

I went down to Ortley Beach today. I unknowingly set-up camp in the surfers' section; so unless I wanted to walk a ways down, I could only wade in the water, which is fine by me as I'm not big on salt water and it wasn't all that hot. Though, that didn't stop me from getting sunburnt!

September 1, 2007

Our front porch is getting a makeover. Every day when I get home, it's like an obstacle course just to get my mail and get in the front door.

August 31, 2007

OK, this is probably hard to see, so I'll explain: This is a picture I took of a guy behind me, with my camera phone. We are going down on an escalator (which is a whole other discussion -- going down on an escalator...). So, yes, he has a full-on camping backpack on the front of him (he also had another one on his back) as we're headed toward the train. Definitely not something I could pull off -- without falling down.

August 30, 2007

My mom sent me another package! Among the items in it was this new figurine that says "Miss You." I now have it sitting right next to the other figurine she gave to me when I moved to NJ. That one says "Birthday Girl" because every day is my birthday :)

August 29, 2007

I went to the U.S. Open today! Though it was a long commute, it was worth it. Emily is working in the president's suite so I got to go there with free dinner, open bar, people watching.

A few celebrities were in our suite when I was there: Star Jones, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors. Obviously taking blatant pictures of them would be really classy, so I only got this blurry, distant profile of Michael Kors.

I was only able to stay for one match or game or set -- whatever it's called (yes, I'm an avid fan). I watched Serena Williams play Maria Camerin. Williams won. The video is blurry since it's so far away, but whatever.

August 28, 2007

Packages! I got clothes that I ordered and a surprise package from my aunt Mary Jo in the mail :) She mailed me homemade chocolate chip cookies and zucchini bread. Yum.

August 27, 2007

I drove Emily to her hotel in Queens. I wouldn't have made it without her navigating!
